The adrenalin, the tears in our eyes and the unforgettable ecstasy is what makes rafting the real adventure in nature. It is organized in two groups; the first group sets out in the morning – The Earlybirds, and the second group, The Nighthawks, departs after the arrival of the Earlybirds. The rafting itself takes place from the Brstanovica camp to Scepan polje and lasts 3 – 4 hours. This 18 km long strip abounds with foamy and exciting cascades: Brstanovica, Celije, cascades underneath pine trees, the upper and lower Vjerinovica cascades, Uzlup … We will have short breaks on our way in order to rest, take photos of the countryside, have drinks and wait for those who are late. You are allowed to bring your cameras to rafting and they will be kept in a special water proof compartment. It is also possible to bring alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks in reasonable quantities, however only in plastic bottles and containers. We won’t even comment on throwing garbage into the river, just bear in mind that the river Tara was proclaimed the reservoir of biosphere by the UNECSO in 1977. There will be a raft leader in each raft – the raft skipper, an experienced professional who is to be obeyed by the rest of the crew. He is primarily responsible for the security of raft and its crew. Don’t forget that rafting is a team sport, and good coordination and organization is essential. Rafting is also used for team building, e.g. whoever gives up rowing first, might give up their work on another occasion… Anyway, after the raft has been inflated, the team members are given their equipment which comprises water proof suits and swimming vests. As for the outfit that you should wear to rafting, we mostly tend to wear swimming suits, but you can also bring T-shirts, scarves, caps, flags, etc. as we are going to be soaked most of the time and the water temperature is approx. 4 degrees Celsius. When we have arrived (alive and kicking) to Scepan polje, we will deflate the raft and pack it. Transportation is going to wait for us there with dry clothes and all, so there is no need for concern as to whether you will soak the seats of the van.
